PKP - Professional Kinesiology Practitioner |
Dr. George Goodheart, D.C., of Detroit, Michigan, a
chiropractic physician and the founder of applied kinesiology, first observed in
1964 that the absence of skeletal deformity and postural distortion is often
associated with muscular dysfunction. The distinguishing characteristic of AK,
then, is the search for muscle imbalance so that it can be corrected. In
general, the applied kinesiologist finds a muscle that tests weak and then
attempts to determine why that muscle is not functioning properly. Headaches for
example can be traced back to problems with the neck muscles. Therapies utilized
can include specific joint manipulation or mobilization, various myofascial
therapies, cranial techniques, meridian therapy, clinical nutrition, dietary
management and various reflex procedures, in order to restore balance to the
total being.

The Touch for Health System, developed by
Dr. John Thie, DC, is a practical guide to natural
health that utilizes acupressure and massage to improve postural balance, and
reduce physical and mental pain and tension. It is an approach to restoring
natural energies that combines ancient Chinese energy therapies with recent
Western developments in kinesiology. It is a very practical methodology for
improving and enhancing health that utilizes the acupuncture meridian system to
balance the body's 14 energy channels, thereby improving biological recovery.

The Professional Kinesiology Practitioner system was developed by Dr. Bruce Dewe, MD, from New Zealand, and from the research contributions of dozens of practitioners around the world. PKP is a system of addressing issues on the physical, energetic, mental, emotional, biochemical and spiritual levels based on a priority protocol.
Relying on the body's wisdom and a thorough balancing
procedure, the PKP system guides the practitioner to identify key issues and
specific techniques that will gently and effectively release stuck patterns.
Beginning with identifying any sabotage programs to a wide variety of corrective
procedures, the PKP system offers over 300 techniques. It is a client based
program that does not treat, diagnose or prescribe.
"The focus is not to come from technical brilliance so
much as to communicate from the heart. This helps make the correction with
greater self awareness of the link between your body, your thought processes,
your emotional state and spiritual balance." Setting goals identifies
specific energetic patterns that underlie reactive behavior patterns. Working
primarily through the meridian system, the practitioner aims to balance the
body's subtle energies, thereby stimulating the body's intrinsic healing
ability.
